Intensive Outpatient Program for Adults

Adult Intensive Outpatient is for those individuals experiencing problems related to the use of drug and/or alcohol, or have difficulty in accessing residential treatment or are not in need of a structured medically managed inpatient treatment setting. This program is appropriate for individuals completing an inpatient treatment program by providing a lower level of care while maintaining a structured more intensive treatment environment then traditional outpatient. This program provides individuals the opportunity to remain in their home, if it is supportive, and continue with employment. Programming takes place three times per week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday Evenings.

Intensive Outpatient Program for Adolescents

The IOP, a structured environment for adolescents in recovery, includes individual and group therapy, substance abuse, relapse prevention and relationship education, 12-step community resources and vocational guidance. IOP fosters a milieu of trust and confidentiality, provides adolescents with support for their innermost strengths and generates awareness of life beyond drug and alcohol abuse or dependence. Adolescents are required to attend and participate in assigned groups three times weekly.

Formatted to encourage self-disclosure, success, as well as failure and relapse prevention, sessions cover such topics as substance abuse education, communication, problem solving, 12-step awareness, spirituality, relationships, anger management, and the physical, emotional, spiritual, and social effects of substance abuse. Adolescents are expected to disclose their current alcohol/drug use and give/receive feedback from other participants.

In addition to group work, clients receive individual counseling on a weekly basis with their assigned therapist, which provides a more personalized focus and facilitates case management responsibilities. Random urine screens are administered throughout the program to monitor and encourage abstinence.
